This study was conducted to analyze if there are any correlations between bycatch in tuna fisheries in Eastern Pacific Ocean. The method of correspondence analysis was used for the data analysis to detect the species that possibly have similar bycatch patterns. The study suggested some combinations of species that may have similar bycatch profiles. Some examples of these combinations are small mahi mahi and medium mahi mahi, and small oceanic whitetip and triggerfishes. Some species have small number of sets with bycatch, so more sampling maybe needed. Also, subject matter expertise is necessary in determining the significance of the similarities of bycatch patterns and their meaningfulness in promoting ocean conservation effort.
